This spring EGC was awarded the San Mateo Sustainability award for our community-based work that is working hard to mitigate food insecurity in our community. Our programs take an integrative approach to healing our community from a food system that places blame on individuals for forces out of their control. From our living campus program that seeks to empower this generation of students to realize the joy in the act of growing healthy fresh foods and their role in this, to our residential garden programs both those on the properties of in-house seniors and those in neighborhoods, our programs seek to give community members a chance to be part of their food system. At EGC we function by and for the community and are committed to this work and the connections we have formed through over the past several years as an organization.
This Wednesday, May 11th from 6-7 pm join us for a virtual awards ceremony to accept the 2022 Sustainable San Mateo Award! This award reflects the hard work EGC is doing to address the climate crisis by integrating sustainable and equitable solutions into our community that create a healthy and economically viable alternative to the failing food system that instead uplifts and supports the livelihood of everyone in our community. We are excited for the publicity of this award and hope it will lead more people to engage with our work and expand awareness of the resources available to the community.
Thank you to all of our funders and volunteers for supporting Each Green Corner and making this organization what it is!
