Please join us for our San Carlos Backyard Fruit Donation Challenge from January 13-28! Partnering with San Carlos Week of the Family 2024, Each Green Corner hosts a competition of backyard produce (citrus aplenty!) between the North and South regions of San Carlos, while promoting community building, volunteerism, and awareness about public health, food security, and sustainable agriculture, EGC’s core values. The boundaries of the region coincide with those of Sequoia High/Central Middle School and Carlmont High/Tierra Linda Middle School.

The whole San Carlos community is encouraged to donate, whether you have a student at the schools or not. Contributors can either harvest their fruit themselves and drop it off on Saturday, January 27 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Tierra Linda Middle School parking lot (750 Dartmouth Ave.) -OR- sign up to have volunteers harvest for you on January 27 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the San Carlos Farmer’s Market (EGC booth on Laurel St. near Peet’s).

Donated produce will directly benefit Samaritan House of San Mateo and Second Harvest of Silicon Valley. EGC will also donate a new fruit tree to each SCSD public school participating, in the winning region!
