Chocolate and fruits is a great pairing that allows for endless combinations, which can be catered to different taste buds. The reason why chocolate goes well with fruits is because it can balance out acidity in fruits like oranges and kiwis, while accentuating the sweetness in fruits that might not always be so sweet, like cherries and apples. Dark chocolate pairs well with fruits that are very sweet by neutralizing the sweetness with a bitter taste. On the other end of the chocolate spectrum, white chocolate can help balance out acidic fruits with its creamy and sweet taste. Since milk chocolate falls in the middle of the chocolate spectrum, it goes well with almost all fruits. However, they pair the best with fruits that don’t necessarily need any balancing of flavors, but might need an extra sweet kick.
