Each Green Corner is proud to announce our upcoming partnership with the Young Men’s Service League! The Young Men’s Service League, or YMSL, is a mother-son service organization dedicated to serving local communities through philanthropic volunteering. At YMSL, high school aged boys and their mothers take part in a four-year program of life skills, leadership development, and community engagement!

We were lucky enough to speak with Arlene Marcus, a YMSL mom and President of the YMSL Chrystal Springs Chapter. Arlene loves doing work with YMSL because it allows her to spend time with her teenage son while helping others. “Serving the community keeps me grateful,” says Arlene, “I want my children to be grateful and help those who don’t have as much. I want my kids to have empathy.”

The Young Men’s Service League will be working with Each Green Corner to help prepare San Carlos schools for outdoor learning through the creation of outdoor gardens and educational spaces. Between weeding, gardening, building sheds, harvesting, and trash cleanup, there are plenty of opportunities at YMSL for mothers and sons of all abilities!

We are so excited to be partnering with such an inspirational and community oriented organization!
