We partner with K-12 schools and community centers to grow on-campus produce gardens. Through hands-on work days and in-classroom curriculum, we teach students about agriculture systems and the issue of food insecurity – all while promoting outdoor activity.
We serve home gardeners by improving cultivation and diverting waste. Our Backyard Harvest Project collects excess or imperfect produce to give to local non-profits, and our Farmer’s Market Project accepts vendor and patron donations in San Carlos. We also run public educational workshops to share home gardening skills.
We grow a variety of seedlings to use on our Living Campus sites. This helps diversify our gardens and ensure access to culturally diverse produce, while keeping our programs cost-effective and self-replenishing.
